What is Thymosin Alpha-1?

Thymosin Alpha-1 (TA-1) is a peptide hormone composed of 28 amino acids with a molecular weight of 3,300 Da. Structurally, TA-1 contains four α-helix regions stabilized by disulfide bonds between cysteine residues at specific positions: 4 and 25, 7 and 19, 10 and 22, and 13 and 16.
